Your customers have started asking a new kind of question. Instead of typing "AC repair Dallas" and scrolling, a homeowner asks an assistant, "Who's a reliable AC company near Lake Highlands that can come today?" The assistant answers with a few names. If yours isn't one of them, you never got a chance to compete for the call.
What is AI visibility, and how is it different from SEO?
AI visibility is SEO's next layer, not a replacement for it. Traditional SEO earns you a spot in a list of links. AI visibility earns you a mention inside the answer itself, along with a link the reader can click.

Google says it plainly in its own documentation: there are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, and a page has to be indexed and eligible to show with a snippet. That's why we don't sell AEO as a trick. It's the fundamentals done thoroughly, plus the extra steps that make your business easy for an AI system to understand, trust and quote:
- Access. AI search crawlers have to be able to read your site. OpenAI, for example, uses a crawler called OAI-SearchBot for ChatGPT search, separate from the crawler it uses for model training. Many sites block these crawlers by accident through a firewall or bot setting.
- Clarity. Every service page needs a direct, quotable answer near the top. AI tools pull short, specific passages. A vague paragraph that never says what you do, where, or for whom gives them nothing to use.
- Consistency. Your name, address, phone number, services and service area should match across your website, Google Business Profile and directory listings. Conflicting facts make a business harder to recommend with confidence.
- Proof. Reviews, case studies with real numbers and named people behind the work give an assistant reasons to pick you.
Why does AI visibility matter for a DFW service business?
It matters because the recommendation happens before the click. When an assistant names three companies, the customer usually calls one of those three. For a Dallas HVAC company, plumber or roofer, being left out of that short list means losing the job before anyone sees your website.
This is still early. Most local competitors haven't structured their sites for AI answers yet, so a business that does the work now has room to become the default answer in its trade and city.
What does Tebeau Group actually do for AI visibility?
We run the same four-part process for every client, and you see the findings before we change anything.

- AI visibility audit. We ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google the questions your customers ask, such as "best water heater installer in Plano" or "emergency roof tarp Fort Worth," and record who gets named. We check whether AI crawlers can reach your site, whether your pages are indexed, and whether your business facts match everywhere they appear.
- Technical fixes. We open crawler access in
robots.txtand your firewall, make sure pages render real HTML that crawlers can read, and add structured data (Organization, LocalBusiness, Service and FAQ markup) so machines can read who you are and what you offer. - Answer-first content. We rewrite your service and city pages so each one opens with a direct answer, uses the questions customers actually ask as headings, and includes a visible FAQ. We write for the need behind the search, like "how fast can you replace a water heater," not just a keyword.
- Authority and proof. We help you get steady, policy-compliant Google reviews, publish real case studies and keep your listings accurate. Then we re-run the audit each month and report what changed.
How long does it take to show up in AI answers?
It varies, and anyone who promises a date is guessing. Technical fixes like crawler access and structured data can be done in the first few weeks. After that, AI tools have to recrawl your pages, and some answers update faster than others. We report monthly on which questions now name your business, so you can see progress instead of taking it on faith.
Is AEO only for big companies?
No. Local service businesses are often the easiest to help, because the questions are specific ("who repairs tankless water heaters in Frisco?") and a clear, well-structured site can stand out quickly. A single-location contractor with accurate listings, solid reviews and answer-first pages can compete with much larger brands for local questions.
What results have we delivered for a DFW home-services company?
The clearest example is 1st Class Heat & Air, a Dallas-Fort Worth HVAC company. After we rebuilt their website and ran their SEO and paid campaigns, monthly lead volume tripled within the first six months (a 300% increase). They reached first-page Google rankings for 15+ high-value HVAC keywords in the DFW market, and their cost per lead dropped 45%. That project covered web design, SEO, Google Business Profile and paid ads, which is the same foundation AI visibility builds on.
How does AI visibility fit with your website and other marketing?
It works best as part of the whole system. A fast, clear website gives AI tools something worth quoting. Organic SEO gets your pages indexed and ranked, which Google requires before it can show them in AI features. An AI chat agent catches the visitors those answers send you, any hour of the day. If you serve homeowners, see how we put it together for home-services companies.
What do DFW business owners ask about AI visibility?
Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend my business?
No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. No one controls what an AI assistant says. What we can do is remove the reasons it would skip you, such as blocked crawlers, unclear pages and inconsistent business facts, and then measure each month which customer questions name you.
Do I need a new website for AEO?
Not always. If your site is fast, crawlable and built on a modern platform, we can usually improve it in place with new page structure, schema and content. If it's slow, hard to update or hides content behind scripts that crawlers can't read, a rebuild is often cheaper than patching it.
Is AEO the same as Google AI Overviews optimization?
Google AI Overviews is one of the places AEO helps you show up. The same groundwork, including indexable pages, clear answers, structured data and consistent facts, also helps with ChatGPT search, Perplexity and other assistants. Google says its AI features rely on standard SEO best practices rather than special tricks.
Will letting AI crawlers in expose my private data?
No. Crawlers read only public pages. We keep private areas such as portals, admin pages and APIs blocked in robots.txt and behind login, and we set search crawlers separately from training crawlers where the AI company offers that choice.
How do you measure AI visibility?
We keep a fixed list of the questions your customers ask, run them in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google each month, and record whether you're named, cited or linked. We pair that with Search Console data and your call and form tracking, so you can connect visibility to actual leads.
Do you only work with home-services companies?
Home services is our main focus in Dallas-Fort Worth, including HVAC, plumbing, roofing and electrical. We also work with healthcare, professional services and other local businesses where customers ask an assistant who to hire.
